10 Life-Hack Ways to Improve Your Health

There are lots of ways to better health. For example, you could try to find complex solutions and spend money on expensive ideas…or you could resort to following a few simple life hacks to improve your daily health.

What the heck are life hacks? Simply put, life hacks are shortcuts to any form of success in life.

In regards to getting fit or healthier, instead of doing it the hard way, why not relax and take the easy daily paths, not grinds?

So try these habits and hacks on for size to see if you notice any difference for some common health issues.

Hack 1: Drink Lemon Water

There is a good reason why lemon water has been gaining popularity.

As soon as you wake up, drink a full glass of lemon water. Drinking this when you wake up ensures better chances of absorption and it helps give your body your much-needed dose of vitamin C. It helps you wake up faster and is a great way to start your day.

Lemon water also helps you reduce body fat and despite the reputation of citrus, lemon is not acidic inside the body.

You can prepare it the night before or as soon as you wake up.

Hack 2: Start the Day Early Positive

Starting the day bright and early on a positive note can set the mood for the entire day. If waking up with a loud alarm or with a stressful start begins the cycle of a cortisol surge which brings with it negativity, how do you counteract this?

Create a habit of sleeping early and waking up early. Sleeping early will give you ample time to sleep. When you wake up early, you also have more time to prepare yourself for the day. It gives you time to do the rest of the morning habits that can be useful for the day.

Say positive affirmations to yourself about how thankful you are with your life. Come up with a list of things that you are grateful for and read it out on a daily basis. This can set your mood right and make you feel grateful for the rest of the day. Do it constantly.

Hack 3: Moisturize Skin with Kitchen Supplies

And we don’t mean just anything. Sometimes it can be stressful to think of what products to use for our skin because let’s face it, cosmetic creams can be pricey. So head to your kitchen and grab a bit of honey, milk, oatmeal, and even lemon.

Honey, milk, oatmeal, and lemon have moisturizing properties and can exfoliate the skin mildly. These food ingredients are more than just things that make our food taste better. They can also help you improve your looks and bring out healthy skin. You don’t have to mix all these together. Use whatever is available.

For example, if only honey is available, apply it to your skin after washing it with mild soap. Honey is good for more than just sweetening food and tea.

Hack 4: Scrub Veggies with Baking Soda or Rinse with Vinegar

Your store-bought vegetables nowadays are often farmed using a lot of pesticides. Yes, that certainly can’t be too good for your health.

So you would want to get rid of these nasty elements, but how to do that?

Soaking your veggies in water with vinegar for 10 minutes or scrubbing veggies with baking soda can help remove these chemicals in your fruits and veggies. That way you can enjoy all the benefits of your healthy veggies and fruits without having to worry about any added pesticides.

Hack 5: Apply Tea for Sunburn

Tea is definitely good for your body. It is rich in antioxidants and nutrients that help calm the body and fight off free radicals. But what works inside the body also works outside, which is the skin.

So if you just hit the beach recently and had that tan or sunburn, consider treating it with a small bag of tea.

Let it rest for a few minutes for your skin to soak in the healthy goodness of the antioxidants. The heat of the sun removes the skin’s moisture, elasticity, and nutrients, so the natural goodness of tea will surely benefit your sun-kissed skin.

Hack 6: Treat Sore Throat with Marshmallow

One of the best ways to treat a sore throat is by eating marshmallows. These tasty and fluffy marshmallows that may be ideal as a campfire treat are also good for a sore throat.

The sap from the marshmallow plant has been trusted for hundreds of years to treat coughs, colds, as well as a sore throat.

So if you think you can’t eat dessert if you have a sore throat, get yourself some marshmallow.

Hack 7: Chew Gum while Exercising

Want to lose weight more while exercising or simply walking?

Chewing a gum can be great for you. It accelerates the process of losing weight and also tests your executive function and at the same time practices your body to multitask efficiently.

Hack 8: For Males, Boost Testosterone Levels with Tongkat Ali

You may be surprised at the benefits you can get from boosting your testosterone levels. You’ll have more energy, more concentration, and more physical and mental stamina.

Taking Tongkat Ali, also known as Eurycoma longifolia or longjack,  is the surefire life hack to boosting your testosterone levels quickly. Tongkat Ali is also an adaptogen, which means that it helps your body cope with stress.

Hack 9: Gargle Whiskey for Sore Throat

If you have a bottle of whiskey sitting in the corner because you decided not to drink it, or you’ve had some resolution not to drink anymore, no worries – you can still put it to good use without the need to get drunk.

You can actually use whiskey to treat a sore throat. So if you are feeling that pain in your throat, you won’t have to run to the nearest drugstore. Gargle that bottle of whiskey without drinking it.

Hack 10: Chew More. Eat Less.

Chewing your food longer does not only slow down your eating but it also allows you to taste the food’s aroma more. The food’s aroma contributes a lot to the actual taste of the food because nothing tastes so good when you have a cold.

So take a bite, put that utensil down, chew, swallow, and pick up the utensil again. This slows down the process of eating food. This also helps your digestion since chewing food breaks it down into smaller and more digestible pieces.
